I remember days many years ago when i would stay at my friend's and we would talk all night long about the rest of our lives, where we were heading to, what we were going to be when we would be 25.
We believed things would never change for us, we would always stay friends, times would always be the same. But at the end of the day we realized things dont always go the way we have dreamt of.
Because now we left 25-mark behind and nothing is the way we thought it would be. We just landed on different tracks. The only thing i regret are words i have never said, truths i never admitted, smiles we once shared.
And now when i have new people in my life i prefer to say things that i need to say to them because i understand i dont have another day and maybe tomorrow my track or their will take another turn and it might be too late. And I might never get a chance again to do this but instead will get a lot of time for new regrets.

True, true...you never know what is going to happen from day to day. It's best to say what needs to be said.
Hope you are doing well!

Who knows what is tomorrow..
I learned a long time ago, my lady, never hold back,
say what you want to..coz time machine has not been invented yet. :D
Friends of yesteryears may no longer be friends today. We pick up new friends and experiences as we go along the pathways of life. But nothing is wasted. We learn a little from each experience we undertake each step of the way. Thanks for the post. God bless you always.
Very very true dear
Life lies ahead always.. it's waiting to be explored. We may not reach where we expect, but as long as we have the spirit for journey life goes on brilliantly..
but those golden moments are worth treasuring for a lifetym, arent they???
good that you speak your mind now...
:)
true dear..
one never knows what the future has got instore for us.. its always better to enjoy the moment.. then hold back things..
I remember there was once a friend who visited my blog and whom I loved so much then suddenly she stopped visitng and I became very sad and lonely. I remmeber she had said to me that "this too shall pass".
Ooh, yeah, I remember, I remember and I would like to know why I have lost such a talented russian reader. Thinking of her all the time. I am so sad and lonely. Oh, my heart is broken. She has refused to see me again!
I knew it wouldnt last but remembering is sometimes nostalgic. We will continue to invent the future through our tears and through all.
I remember seeing salman rushdies book next to a double painting in my drawing room. The painting was a gift from my father. I remember that first painting from a long time ago!
Have you read any books where the character sat on a seat in front of the Mona Lisa painting?
Hugs!
Very true... Spot on, in fact.
Stephen Foster comes to mind as I read your post;
"Gone are the days
When my heart was young and gay.
Gone are my friends
From the cotton fields away.
Gone from this place,
To a better land I know.
I hear their gentle voices calling:
Old Black Joe"
I remember reading this somewhere- youth is a gift of nature; age is a work of art.
Peace.
oh yea...nothing is constant but change!!
n hey u regret the smiles u shared?u regret even the good times really??
Lena you are so wise: 'things dont always go the way we have dreamt of' - yes living every day saying now and not waiting is the answer. I lost my elementary best friend in the car accident many years ago, and until this day I wish I could stay in touch for much longer. Anna :)
i so agree with u Lena..we just need to live in the moment...!
Yes, well said...
We should live at the moment!!!
Really liked this post..its true..that we say it now n not wait for another day..will visit agn..:)
Thoughtfully said! I agree, it always works better if you are free and frank. So, no regrets when you loose track of anyone close. Point taken. But is it easy?
Very creativ!
